The New Jersey Food Council will host the prestigious Night of Distinction reception Thursday, March 22, 5:30 p.m. at The Palace at Somerset Park, Somerset, NJ. The event, with its powerful slate of honorees, draws over 500 guests including prominent food industry executives. A Silent Auction will be featured that supports the NJFC Educational Development Scholarship Program.
New Jersey Food Council is proud to announce its 2018 Night of Distinction Honorees who will be presented with Industry Achievement Awards for their meaningful contributions to advance the mission of the Food Council, for achieving significant food business success, and for their history of civic service within the New Jersey food community.
This year’s honorees are Chris Lane, Executive Vice President of Wakefern Food Corporation; Kathy Russello, Executive Vice President of Retail Business Services, an Ahold Delhaize Company; and Dennis Hickey, Chief Merchandising Officer of Krasdale Foods.
“These three outstanding professionals and their organizations are praiseworthy members of NJFC that work to support our efforts and our association’s mission. They are being celebrated for their positions as industry role models and effective leaders. This recognition truly makes the Night of Distinction the retail food industry event of the year.” said NJFC President Linda Doherty.
Chris Lane is the Executive Vice President for Wakefern Food Corporation, the largest retailer-owned cooperative in the United States. His current responsibilities include guiding the day-to-day operations and strategic planning for Wakefern, a cooperative that reported $16 billion in retail sales for its most recent fiscal year.
Kathy Russello is the Executive Vice President of People Systems and Services for Retail Business Services, a proud Company of Ahold Delhaize USA, which provides services and support to the Ahold Delhaize US Brands including Stop & Shop. She oversees Compensation and Benefits, Talent Management and Learning, Associate Relations, Diversity and Inclusion and HR Services for the Company. Kathy also serves as the President of the Ahold Delhaize USA Family Foundation, a charitable foundation with the mission of building healthy communities by supporting family health and nutrition.
Dennis Hickey is Chief Merchandising Officer for Krasdale Foods, Inc. a privately held company servicing independent retailers in the New York metropolitan area since 1908, and Florida since 2003. His current responsibilities include overseeing all procurement and merchandising functions and developing sales strategies to support the company’s retail banners, the leading independent banners in the five boroughs of New York.
