NJ Food Business Leader Discusses State of the Food Industry at NJFC Annual Trade Relations Conference

Craig Coyle Receives Prestigious Max Stone Trade Relations Award

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — Discussing the latest market trends and innovations, about 200 leaders from New Jersey’s food retail and distribution businesses gathered in Atlantic City recently.

The New Jersey Food Council (NJFC) 2018 Trade Relations Conference featured a presentation by Dan Croce, Senior Vice President of Operations of Acme Markets, on the “State of the Food Industry”. Dan discussed industry strengths, challenges, culture, leadership, strategies and their implementation.

“We are thrilled to have so many of the state’s leaders in the food industry here with us in Atlantic City to discuss challenges, collaborations, and innovations of the food business,” said NJFC President and CEO Linda Doherty. “Dan provided an insightful presentation that brought a new perspective on the culture of retail strategies in the NJ marketplace. With Dan’s announcement of his departure from Acme, his last presentation as an NJFC Board Member will remain special to our association.”

Additionally, Craig Coyle, Senior Director of Sales for Bimbo Bakeries USA was honored with the New Jersey Food Council’s Max Stone Trade Relations Award. Doherty said, “Craig Coyle has made a significant impact on the food industry in this region. He goes above and beyond to make the sale, partner with retailers, sustain the food business through charitable work and support the mission of the Food Council.”

The Conference began with a highly-anticipated Chef Cook-off that was won by Foodtown chefs who have won the last three years. It was to be concluded with an industry-wide golf outing at Galloway that, due to the rain, had to be rescheduled to Wednesday, May 30 at 10:00 a.m.
